Kam Speech, hailing from Tobique First Nation, navigates hip hop with a fresh perspective. Crafting lyrics since eleven and producing by twelve, Kam's music reflects his roots and the broader hip hop culture. Formerly Speechless, his evolution as an artist speaks to many.
His debut album, 'Dangerous Methods,' earned an ECMA nomination for Aboriginal Recording of the Year in 2013, marking the start of his influential path. Kam continued to gain recognition with his duo 'Old Self & Kam Speech' and solo projects like ‘GOODandDEFiiiANT’ and ‘EST.1996.’
In 2018, Kam showcased during the Prix MusicNB Awards Show, sharing his 5 minutes on stage with Old Self to deliver a very heartfelt and powerful performance of their song Mirror for a sold out crowd at the Caraquet Culture Centre, then later on that night winning the award for the Best Hip Hop Artist/Album, highlighting his dedication and artistry.
Beyond accolades and sharing the stage with the likes of City Natives, Merkules, Snak The Ripper, The Palmer Squares, Quake Matthews, and legendary hip hop duo Mobb Deep (RIP Prodigy), becoming a father in 2021 added depth to his narrative, focusing on legacy and nurturing future dreams.
